Lindsay Road is a residential street in South Billerica, north of Wyman Road, running about 1,800 feet south-southeast from School House Lane past Susan Drive to the edge of Orchard Manor near Matthew Road. Its northern part was opened through a tract of six and a half acres on the south side of School Lane, which the heirs of John Knowles sold in August 1943 to Willis G. Lindsay of Medford, as shown on a "Plan of Land Surveyed for Willis G. Lindsay," drawn by J. B. Monahan, civil engineer, dated August 14, 1943 and recorded August 24, 1943 (Plan Book 65, Plan 65). The plan shows only the bounds of the land, between land of Martin, Brown and Knowles, and no street; the road took the buyer's name. The street directory of 1949 lists "Lindsay Road, From School Lane," and the assessors date the oldest houses on it to 1945 through 1950.
The water department laid 740 feet of main in "Lindsey Road" in 1953. On a residents' petition the annual town meeting of 1956 accepted Lindsay Road as a town way and voted $550 to improve it; the town's list of accepted streets gives "Lindsay Rd. -- 640 ft. 3-27-56." The southern part is the "Lindsay Road Extension" of the Orchard Manor plan of June 16, 1953, drawn by Dana F. Perkins and Sons for Billerica Homes, Inc. (Plan Book 83, Plan 49); the directory of 1957 describes "Lindsay Road Extension (Billerica Gardens), From 28 Susan dr to bey end of Matthew rd." An article of 1957 to accept the Extension with the other streets of the development, on condition of an agreement with "Billerica Homes, an agency of the Federal Housing Administration," for repairs, has no recorded result. After officers of the Federal Housing Administration described the rebuilding of the project's drains and streets, the annual town meeting of March 19, 1960 voted to accept "Lindsay Road, located in Billerica Homes subdivision off Wyman Road."
Articles of 1967, 1968 and 1969 for a $5,000 surface drain on Lindsay Road "from a point near the northerly line of Lot 144" for about 600 feet failed or were dismissed, and the street was on the selectmen's list of drainage problems in 1970. It was graded by the highway department in 1973.

On July 29, 1953 Harry Dunlap Brown and Blanche L. The deed to Billerica Homes runs along Wyman Road but steps around a lot "South 82-07-10 West, 100.00 feet; South 7-52-50 East 183.53 feet and North 82-07-10 East, 100.00 feet to Wyman Road": 18,353 square feet, the lot of the old house, which was kept out of the development and sold in 1955 to private owners (Plan Book 83 Plan 49). Later owners of the house lot are private.
